In our constant pursuit to provide the top savory recipes available, the MSGdish Team found this delish-sounding meat marinade recipe on Recipes Wikia and wanted to share it before we even have a chance to whip it up. Sounds like it would be excellent for any kind of meat — beef, roast, chicken, pork, ribs and shrimp. And now that it’s football season, why not experiment with new and different marinades to impress fellow fans at a tailgate or in front of your own TV?

Korean-Style Meat Marinade

The longer the marinade time, the better, says the original recipe author!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup  soy sauce
  • 1 cup  water
  • ½ cup  honey
  • ½ cup chopped green onions
  • 1 Tbsp. sesame oil  or other oil
  • 1 tsp. black pepper
  • ½ Tbsp. MSG
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder  or less to taste

Instructions

  1. If using a beef roast, slice paper-thin.
  2. Pour marinade over the slices, cover and allow it to marinade overnight in the refrigerator.
  3. For chicken, pork, ribs, or shrimp, add the marinade then cover and refrigerate for up to 24 hours in the refrigerator. Meats can then be cooked on a grill, baked, broiled or stir-fried.
