Here are some tried and true recipes for savory sauces that have made it to the Savory Cuisine Corner on MSGdish because well, quite simply, we found them to be delicious!

Best Spaghetti Sauce

A necessity for any spaghetti dish! Throw it in the Crock-Pot and come back hours later to a delicious-smelling house and a delicious-tasting dish!

Course Sauce
Cuisine American, Italian
Servings 12 people

Ingredients

  • 4 cups tomato sauce
  • 8 cups diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon MSG
  • 1/8 teaspoon onion salt
  • 1/4 cup dried parsley
  • 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 3 lbs link sausage

Instructions

  1. Brown link sausage, and cut into thirds.
  2. Combine all ingredients into large sauce pan.
  3. Cover and simmer.
  4. Cook for 4 hours, stirring occasionally.

Chinese Sweet and Sour Sauce

What is Chinese food without some amazing Sweet and Sour Sauce? Here's an easy recipe that is perfect for dipping appetizers, shrimp, wontons, etc.

Course Sauce
Cuisine Asian
Servings 2 people

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1 dash MSG
  • 1 dash Tabasco Pepper Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch combined with 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 dash white pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook until it is bubbly and thick. Remove from stove and add 2 Tbsp. ketchup. This will stay good in the refrigerator for about a week.

Fajita Marinade

THE secret for mouth-watering fajitas!

Course Sauce
Cuisine Mexican
Servings 10

Ingredients

  • 1 2/3 cups pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cups cooking sherry
  • 2/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2/3 tablespoon sugar
  • 2/3 tablespoon salt
  • 2/3 tablespoon MSG
  • fajita seasoning mix fiesta

Instructions

  1. Marinate meat 48 hours, cook to medium & cut against the grain.
  2. Sprinkle with Fiesta Fajita seasoning while cooking.
